this hamilton porta-file box has the key underneath the front sticker. the sticker says that the metal storage box holds over 800 documents. it adds its motto: keep records at your fingertips.
compared to any of the other smaller-sized green metal file boxes of this brand, i believe my label shows the oldest age. i am guessing it could be mid-century, anywhere from the 1950s to the 1970s.
it has an industrial look and is a beautiful retro green color.

condition: no rust or issues inside at all, with a spot on the outer lid and minor scratches on the sides/bottom, with slight discolorations, but overall in outstanding shape and with no dents
