this unusual measuring cup is large and an odd amount--not eight-ounces like a one-cup scoop and not sixteen-ounces like a two-cup scoop.
that's because it's engraved "Use For HTH Only" and the 400-gram scoop was most likely used as measurement for industrial cleaning/disinfecting powder. "HTH" may stand for "High Test Hypochlorite, a chemical. it could be included in laundry powder or chemicals used for hot tub/swimming pool maintenance. i believe this was used in some sort of factory or hospital, probably for floor-cleaning powder.
it does not have any chemical smell, but actually smells like spices (the closest exact scent would be cloves).
as a precaution: i suggest not using this cup in your kitchen, avoiding the possibility of any lingering chemical/toxin.
i found this in a small antique store in tiny garibaldi, oregon, a coastline town near the pacific.
the cup is in decent condition and would be an interesting item to use or hang/set in a laundry room (perfect for your powder detergent) or man cave or other room.
a hanging hole is at the end of the handle. if you're a scientist or crafter or housekeeper, perhaps this cup makes the perfect measurement for a chemical or powder or cleaning product. it might work for something in the garage.
the condition shows typical wear and tear, with tiny denting, small scratches, and discolorations on the aluminum. the handle is slightly wiggly, but not loose, where the handle connects with the cup.
vintage item, as-is (the photos show each angle and exact condition and if anything, i always over-state any issues)
