we found this itsy-bitsy polly in a bin full of our kids’ old crayons and markers. it is just the polly doll and does not include any of the rest of the set.
she is bendy, with her arms able to raise up and down and her legs able to move outward at the hips. at the hips, you can also move her torso sideways.
she has a red ball cap, blonde hair in a ponytail, a short-sleeve aqua shirt with white collar, butterscotch-color shorts, and royal blue boots with an edge of white socks showing,
she stands on a tiny round platform which splits in half for her legs to move. she is able to nearly do the splits.
the rest of the set (not included here) would be a green and pink tree house with a platform and a slide, three elephants, three giraffes, and three monkeys.
in 1983, a british man named chris wiggs used a make-up powder compact to create a teensy dollhouse for his daughter. he sold the concept to bluebird toys/the u.k. bluebird toys sold the polly pocket toys from 1989 to 1998. they sold the brand to mattel in 1998.
polly pocket was also developed into a tv series, four movies, and a webseries. polly pocket has been featured on clothing and other fashion items.
the original polly pocket sets came as heart, circle, clam shell, and square shapes. the polly pocket doll came on a tiny, circular base.
the original polly pocket doll was 2-millimeters tall. they eventually became 3.75" tall.
