these are a w e s o m e !
talk about style...these vintage black-and-wire eyeglasses have the classic shape. they have an extra ornate trim at the top outer corner on each side.
at one point, one of the nose pads was replaced with a larger, non-original one. one ear piece has some black tape wrapped around it, though it does blend in. both ear pieces look fairly worn and do show age. granny wore these and wore these, but hey, who can blame her? they're so classic and so cute.
if you don't want these to wear for yourself, they make a charming vintage accent on top of a stack of books, on a tiny easel, on a fireplace mantel, or on a desktop.
i spotted these in a backroom booth of a beautiful antique store in corsicana, texas. it's a former oil industry boomtown and now a quiet, little town. but the historic mansions and wonderful vintage items in the antique stores show the old glory days, when they had the highest income per household in the entire country. i could just picture a fancy woman, maybe a librarian or school teacher, wearing these glasses.
vintage item, as-is, but you will see exact conditions in all the photos and i've left nothing out; overall, they're just wonderful, though not in perfect shape
