i think little ones love anything with animals. this charming retro-look cover features a child's hand and a bear, fox, squirrel, bunny, and kangaroo on each of the four fingers and thumb.
the book shows baby animals and their parents--kangaroos, deer, bears, beavers, foxes, bunnies, geese, turkeys, ducks, and pigs. at the end, the book sums up the number of animals and counts from one to ten.
this is a part of wonder books and says "washable covers" (in today's language, i would clarify that meaning "wipe-off" covers).

i spotted this treasure in a tiny town's antique store outside kansas city. i truly think some child owned it their whole life and that book "lived" in this little town all those years.
this book would make sweet decor on an easel in a nursery, child's room, playroom, classroom, or homeschooling area.
i love this sweet, sweet book. kids love counting books and learn as they say it along with the grown-up. i'm super picky about children's books and have been a member of the society of children's book writers and illustrators for 30 years.
the cover shows the original 29-cents price.
no writing inside it
tight spine
the pages are perfect.
the colors look great.
our home is a non-smoking home.
the only issue would be a tiny bit of wear and tear on the spine's bottom edge.
