this is rare. this vintage license plates is in very nice shape. with the classic black-and-white, plus the outline state silhouette, it's extra cool-looking.
many people give someone something like this for this birth year or anniversary year. it makes a fun piece for wall decor in a man cave, play area, homeschooling space, children's room, workspace, or other creative room.
a shaped kansas plate is a great find. only two were available for sale online at the time of this listing.
in addition, having "the wheat state" motto makes the retro look even more nostalgic.
the plate reads: kansas 55 (top line)/jw (vertically)-3547/the wheat state (bottom line). the "jw" county abbreviation indicates "jewell county, kansas."
fun facts:
1) from 1949 through 1959, kansas used "the wheat state" motto on their license plates.
2) kansas used the state's shape with their die-cut license plates from 1951 through 1955.
the plate is much heavier than today's license plates. it's almost perfectly straight, not bent like many vintage plates. the white edging and some of the numbers/letters show a bit of rust, but truly, this patina adds to its charm.
