this rake head came from a rural antiques store on a curvy missouri two-lane country road, probably straight from someone's huge garden.
the handle still shows some of the original green color.
this exceptional rake head features many, many more prongs than the typical rake head used for farmhouse decor.
at an average antiques store or online, this rake head would go for a much higher price. i'm offering the bargain price, because i found it for a good deal.
many farmhouse-style crafters mount vintage rake heads in the kitchen and hang coffee cups from them. it also works for wine and water goblets, with them hanging upside-down by their stem between the prongs.
some people like the rake heads vintage and rusty. others like to paint the rake heads different colors. you could spray wd-40 onto the rake and give it a good scrub with steel wool. i've left it rusty and crusty.
other ideas for this cool vintage piece:
-mount it to the wall and hang your necklaces from the prongs, turning the rake head into a jewelry holder.
-it would also work great for scarves.
-hang belts from it.
-in your bathroom, you could hang towels or hand towels on it.
-turn it into a key holder and hang this by your back door for your keys and lanyards.
note: the top of the handle, where the long, wood pole formerly attached to the head, is very sharp and rusty. you may want to cover it with something protective. the prongs are somewhat rusty and sharp. please be careful while handling the rake head to avoid any injury.
size: 9.25" tall from the base to the end of the handle and 15" at its widest point; the handle portion is about 5" long and just over 1" diameter; the prongs are about 3" each and curl inward at the tips
