when you're traveling through texas and come to corsicana, you'll see historic homes showing the evidence of the town's former glory days, the then-booming oil industry. i found this wonderful set of high-quality measuring cups in a beautiful antique store there.
it's rare to find a set of this fine weight and workmanship. only one other set was anywhere online.
the four cup set includes these sizes:
-1-cup;
-3/4-cup (unmarked);
-1/2-cup;
-1/4-cup.
i don't know the actual origin of the cup's owners, but it could've been a commercial setting. they are still perfectly usable.
or, you might decide that they're so pretty, you want to hang them as wall decor in your farmhouse or ranch or even modern-decor kitchen.
note: i didn't notice until after my purchase that one of the measuring cups is slightly different from the others. it still matches for the most part, but upon closer inspection:
-the hanging hole is larger;
-it does not have a tiny pouring lip like the other three;
-because of the pouring lips on the other cups, the next-to-largest cup fits a bit snugger when nesting;
-the good news here: this "mismatched" cup is actually the most heavyweight and best quality, with its handle exceptionally well-made.
i am pretty observant and particular and if i didn't notice, most people wouldn't. i did price the set lower than i planned, taking this issue into account.
i am careful to name any known issues. i will always be honest and want my customers to know exactly what they're buying.
the three cups are marked "korea," with the 3/4-cup fourth cup not marked "korea."
as with most vintage copper items, the colors and textures vary on each cup. some scrubbing scratches are visible, but none of the cups have any significant damage. they simply look aged...and charming exactly that way!
vintage item, as-is/please read my description and look through the photos
