this little item caught my eye at an upscale, clean overland park, kansas estate sale. the green reminded me of growing up, with our head of lettuce stored in a green tupperware "egg-shaped" container with white lid, the same color as this small container.
i believe this was possibly part of a 3-piece set that included a green, plastic cheese grater that fit over the green bottom portion. this set-for-sale does not include that third part, but is a perfect size to store leftovers, take your lunch to work or school, use in your pantry, or store small arts/crafts, sewing, or office items. it would work for crayons or colored pencils or chalks.
the airtight design keeps the contents safe in the refrigerator or shelf or lunch bag.
it is in very good condition, with no issues except very, very minor typical scratches in the plastic, probably caused by a spoon scraping out the contents as someone ate their lunch from the container. you have to look for the scratches in the right light to even notice them.
the seal functions properly.
the green color of the base piece is that familiar, pleasant shade of vintage green and never goes out-of-style. the retro color and the interesting shape and size make this an especially cool item.
size: about 2" deep when the lid is on the container; about 4" wide and about 9" long end-to-end (including the seal's extra tip, made to fit onto tupperware multiple-lid storage arms)
do not microwave. in order to play it safe, hand-wash rather than put into the dishwasher. the lid and container would probably be ok in the dishwasher's top rack, but because it was manufactured before dishwashers became commonplace in homes, its plastic could be damaged.
vintage item, as-is, but in great shape
made in the usa!
