the wood grain on this rolling pin is probably the prettiest i've ever seen. i don't know what kind of wood this is, but the handles are the solid style, creating such a sturdy, old-school rolling pin.

the color is a deeper medium wood tone, with a slight hint of golden brown.
i found this extra-lovely rolling pin in kansas. i have a feeling it was used for some cook's entire lifetime. it shows the smoothness of years of usage, the age only adding to the beauty.
the handles do not turn, created this way. it's possible the rolling pin was one-of-a-kind and crafted by someone.
size: a little over 18-1/2" total length, with each handle a little over 3" long and the body a little over 12" long (about a 2-1/2" diameter)
