this retro 1950s ice crusher is a real find. first, the pink color is always in demand, but extremely rare to find. second, the ice crusher is in very, very good condition.
this ice crusher's stainless steel handle has a pink roller-style knob at the end and is set off with the round, decorative name on silver and in all-cap letters. on each side, fancy gold-grid pattern adds an art deco touch and the two-tone silver/gold coloring.
the flip-up lid is heavy-duty stainless steel. about halfway down the ice crusher, a silver tab on each side can release the top part from the lower ice bin.
on each side of the ice-o-mat name, a "c" or "f" indicate which direction to turn the handle to create your two options, either "coarse" or "fine" ice options.
this extra-special item would make a beautiful gift for someone special who loves retro items.
the pink's sooooo pretty. think pink poodle skirts...
the ice crusher is perfect for:
-a farmhouse kitchen;
-mid-century home;
-man cave;
-bar area.
this ice crusher is so special that it would look beautiful as retro decor, featured on a shelf or bookcase.
classic and so cute, it looks straight out of a black-and-white tv sitcom. it makes you think of palm springs or miami, chic and upscale.
i found the ice crusher at an especially well-done antique store in the ozark mountains in southwest missouri.
the ice crusher was made to set on a countertop or be wall-mounted. the back of the ice crusher has the built-in, heavyweight mount, but does not have a screw or other hardware to attach it to a wall. i believe it could be easily figured out by someone handy.
note: vintage ice crushers are heavyweight on top, with a lighter-weight plastic bin on the bottom to hold the ice (and therefore heavier on the bottom, once full).
the base below the plastic ice bin on this ice crusher is higher-end and made of metal like the top, adding overall stability and quality. the base features four, round feet to protect surfaces.
this ice crusher is especially deluxe and well-made.
the turn-handle functions perfectly.
safety precaution: the blades are very sharp, so please make sure any little ones do not put their fingers/hands inside.
size: just over 9" tall, 3-3/4" deep at the base (wider than the ice bin), 5" deep from the wall mount to the name on the front, and with the main parts of the ice crusher's body 3" deep
i can offer this ice crusher at a great deal, because i bought it for a decent price. normally, an ice crusher like this would be priced closer to $80 or higher.
this is a vintage item in decent condition, but comes as-is. the unit has no major flaws, but does show its age with normal -looking wear and tear. please examine all the photos to see the exact condition. a few photos show three vintage ice crushers for sale, but only the pink one is included in this particular pricing here.
