it may or may not be important to you where i found this book. but i'll tell you anyway. my husband and i were at a large home's estate sale. as we walked up the steep stairs to a child's bedroom, we saw shag carpet and vintage books and toys, including several raggedy ann dolls. my husband picked up two books and held them up to me, this book and its earlier "sister" book, the original "raggedy ann stories."
i had never seen the books that made the doll famous. i didn't even know they existed. but i could instantly see their vintage charm. i smiled and felt excited that they looked like something special.
turns out, very special!
inside this book, a child's sweet, scraggly handwriting says the owner's name, address, and old-time phone number: sue wade, 611 llewellyn, p.l. 6-5355. (i think that means: private line and the actual phone number way back then.)
as a vintage book, this book is in well-loved condition and shows some of its age and wear/tear. please look at my photos.
i try my best to price my items well, somewhere at the lower end of the range for vintage books. this one happens to be exceptionally rare and in high demand. similar books of this same edition sold for $90-120.
vintage item, as-is, with conditions all well-stated and from a non-smoking home
