i found this sweet, oversized hardback book at an extra-nice, multiple-family sale in upscale overland park, kansas. a group of elderly friends (and self-admitted packrats) held the sale full of wonderful treasures, cleaning out closets and bedrooms from long ago.
the book is in really good condition. it is a random house first edition of the later 1953 printing and was copyrighted originally in 1941.
author walter farley is most famous for "the black stallion."
the illustrations are colorful and classic, like looking at a piece of history. they are done by james schucker.
it's a great item for collectors, horse-lovers, decor for a wild west nursery or children's room, or for anyone who loves vintage books.
vintage item, as-is (but no markings or issues)
