from letters between the little red hen and her cousin hetty henny and other forest, folk-tale characters like goldilocks, little red riding hood, and peter rabbit, this highly-inventive children's book is written by alma flor ada and illustrated by leslie tryon. the book adds in a couple of extra characters named fer o'cious and wolfy lupus.
kids will giggle when you read this book aloud to them.

this paperback book looks brand-new, but is pre-owned from my own household. it hasn't even been in the hands of any children. it was bought as part of market research. we are a non-smoking household.
the book was published in 2001 by atheneum books for young readers, with a reprint issued in 2004. my copy is what appears to be the 20th printing and i am guessing it's from 2012, due to a hint in the author's info at the back.
