i spotted this beautiful, old book at an overland park, kansas garage sale full of wonderful goodies.
what an extra special jewel for collectors and raggedy ann fans!
the floral pattern on the front and back covers show the original style. the gorgeous, charming period artwork decorates many of the book's pages, some in color and some in black-and-white.
the front and book covers are the same (you'll see the photos with the dark spine on the left or right).
the spine and pages are all there. some pages show minor imperfections and aging or wrinkles.
the book's corners and spine show the typical aging, but for a book almost a century old, this one is in good shape. please look through the photos to see exact conditions.
i always carefully state all conditions, so that my buyers know exactly what they're buying. issues in the book include:
-the book has an owner's name written in gray pen on the page opposite the title page. "beverly jane blakesley" is shown in lovely, traditional cursive writing.
-some black inkpen scribbles are on the first page inside the cover, with a red inkpen scribble on the last page on the back cover's interior and on the blank last page of the book, as well as some two pages before "the end" page.
-no page numbers are added to the book. but on the next to last page of chapter four, the page has a small tear on the lower inside left.
-chapter six has a 2" tear at the top center on one page.
-on the last few pages of chapter seven, someone scribbled red inkpen around the margins of one page, with tears on the top half of the next few pages and some more red/pink scribbles, the damage ending at chapter eight.
for all the page tears, the pieces are all there.
this book is listed at a bargain price to reflect any damage issues. other online prices for the few available of this rare book edition are up to three times this price.
