this hipster-looking ken is dressed like he's ready for a day at the beach.
he's wearing a "malibu 01" baseball-style, long-sleeve rash guard, camo shorts/swim trunks, and white, slip-on sneakers.
his dark blonde hair looks like a modern cut from a barbie shop. his eyes are hazel. he's caucasian with darker skin tone or a tan.
his neck will swivel a bit into different positions.
maybe he's barbie's big brother or little brother. maybe he's her best friend. in today's world, ken is no longer automatically assumed to be barbie's boyfriend. in fact, barbie is probably too busy for a boyfriend...
admittedly, this ken doesn't really look like a regular kind of guy. he looks more like a fashion model. some things change, but this is still the pretty-perfect-ish world of barbie and ken.
most of the barbies in my selection aren't your average kind of barbies found on every store shelf. i carefully select ones with more diversity, some special aspect about them, or with an updated look.
this particular ken is not especially diverse or special. but he is the tiniest step closer to the dad or uncle or cousin or teacher or type of man your little one might know.
let's pretend his camo shorts are an ode to the regular bass pro shops kind of dude, even those without the surfer tan or movie star face!
