this horse brings back memories. i loved playing with toy horses. many kids go through a "horse phase."
this horse looks palomino, but the slightly darker-brown spots here and there give a hint at some appaloosa, too. the forelegs are darker brown. the mane and tail are pure white and fuzzy/soft from lots of love and brushing.
overall, the horse is in pretty good condition. it would look adorable as a decor accent in a wild west nursery, a child's bedroom, or anywhere you want to add a touch of nostalgia.
playing with a hands-on toy is so important for a child's imagination and development. they talk to themselves or with other children and improve dialogue and language skills. they make up scenarios for their playtime. everything in the brain's firing during play like this.
this horsie isn't in perfect condition. a few black dots, lines, and imperfections from age and wear/tear are here and there. between the ears, a tiny, light pink spot hints at either a marker or a formerly glued bow.
made of hard plastic and good, old-fashioned quality, i found this lovely old toy out in the middle of kansas in a farming town's antique store.
i couldn't find any brand name or markings for maker. i'm guessing it's from the 1960s or 1970s, because of its similarity to the horses i played with during those decades.
