this little burro (or donkey?) is an old-school souvenir from branson, missouri back in the late 1960s. the milky-white and golden-striated quartz is beautiful. the stripe variations look boldest on the back and on one side.
if i remember right, this was my souvenir from silver dollar city, back in the old days when my cousins and i often rode to branson in a pick-up bed filled with quilts and laughter. in those days, the hatfield and mccoys had regular fights on main street. you could take a bumpy ride in a real stagecoach. you could whoosh down a wide slide in the treehouse. but my favorite thing was getting a candy stick for the ride home.
the burro has the traditional load on his back. it could be blankets. it may be a full saddlebag.
this burro is missing one ear. but otherwise, he's in beautiful condition. i've priced him lower.
