this charming retro item was the exact type of old-school metal file box my parents used for all their important paperwork...except theirs was banged up and old.
this one looks very good, complete with its original product label on the front. it is very rare to find a vintage item in this condition, especially with any original type of label.
no key was with the file box, so it cannot be locked and unlocked (unless you can find a little key that works). the latch itself works great.
the green is a beautiful retro color, just darker than mint and a deeper tone than grass green.
maybe this one was something a professor or student bought, but never used. it came from an antique store in columbia, missouri, where the university of missouri is located.
i believe the file box is probably from the 1960s or at the latest, the 1970s.
