this vintage book looks special.
and it is. you spot the name "steinbeck" and feel instantly curious, since the title probably doesn't sound familiar.
the book was actually john steinbeck's last. it is about travelling across the country in his old truck with his french poodle charley.
this book makes the most charming gift for a steinbeck lover and/or a dog-lover.
the beautiful map is included in both the inside and back cover boards/pages. you could even open the book to one and display it on an easel with the map showing.
i found this book at an estate sale. it is not an ex-library book. it came from the mansion of an attorney.
the book is in very, very wonderful condition. none of the pages have markings or any bent corners. the spine is tight. it is from a non-smoking home.
the cover's color is a yellowish-beige, though some of the photos look more grayish.
the cover has a few tiny dark dots (they could be teensy speckles from a fountain ink pen). the back cover has one larger dot. it appears to be a tiny drip from a fountain ink pen.
the book does not have a dust jacket.
